i just wanted to let everyone know to keep steve zapfe and his family in your prayers tonight and throughout the week. he had a nasty crash today at Big Rock. the word is he has a cracked sternum, broken knee cap, and a punctured lung and that he has been taken from batesville er to a hospital in indy. please give him your support and wish him a speedy recovery, he is a great guy and competitor.

Hey all, Im Steve's little brother. He is up at Methodist hospital now. He does have a broken sternam, broken patella (knee cap), 8 broken ribs, punctured lung, and some back problems. That is the latest update from his wife, Shirley, just earlier this evening. He is awaiting an MRI and still in a lot of pain. i'm ok eye is still a little swolen. had to get 8 stitches total. 3 inside 5 outside. looks like i got in a bar fight lol. i'll be back racing on the 23rd at icxr

8/25/09 had first reg. doctor appt. today . first time family doc. has seen me . he kept saying how amazed he was at how well i am doing all things considered !! also thought could be as long as 12 weeks with back brace on , that decission will be up to nuro surgens. i havent told them that i have tags to hunt in colarodo mid oct.? that wiil be helping me to push myself to get going faster. thanks again for all the support i have gotten from all my race family & friends it has helped me more than you all know !!!
