Hello, I recently bought a 2003 yamaha blaster two stroke that has been sitting and still brand new. My question is, and I'm getting mixed answers. Is it has an automatic oil mix tank. Some say do away with it, and others say I will be fine to trust and run it. It does have a red light that will warn low oil. And if I were to do away with it and start running mixed fuel. Can I just run the oil tank real low, and add mixed for remainder and convert it this way and leave all auto in tact. Or does it have to be disconnected? I honestly prefer leaving it the way it is. But one explained if it fails I stand a chance of running with no oil being sent to carbon and blowing it up in a short time. What is your thoughts on this system? And why would yamaha install them if there is a chance of them failing?

Anything can fail. These systems on all brands will just stop working and you will not know it untill it blows up. The light is for low oil, and not if it stops working. I say mix it with your gas.
